You’re Not Stuck—You’re Comfortable
By Samuel Troyer ·
“Stuck” is one of the most overused words people use to describe their life.
“I feel stuck.”
“I don’t know what to do.”
“I can’t move forward.”
But if you really break it down…
most people aren’t stuck at all.
They’re comfortable.
Comfortable in a routine they complain about.
Comfortable in habits that keep them average.
Comfortable in a life they don’t actually want—but aren’t willing to change.
And that’s the truth people don’t like.
Because “stuck” sounds like something is happening to you.
But comfort? That’s a choice.
Change is available to almost everyone.
You could wake up earlier.
You could learn something new.
You could start that idea.
You could make a move.
But you don’t.
Not because you can’t…
but because it’s easier not to.
Comfort is quiet.
It doesn’t scream at you.
It doesn’t feel dangerous.
It slowly convinces you that where you are is “good enough.”
Good enough pay.
Good enough habits.
Good enough progress.
And before you realize it…
years have gone by.
Nothing terrible happened.
But nothing great happened either.
That’s the trap.
Being stuck would mean you have no options.
But if you’re honest…
you do have options.
They’re just uncomfortable.
They require effort.
They require risk.
They require you to step into something uncertain.
And most people would rather stay in a familiar situation they don’t like…
than risk stepping into one they’re not sure about.
So they stay.
And they call it “being stuck.”
But deep down, they know the truth.
Because every once in a while, it hits them—
They could be doing more.
They could be moving forward.
They could be building something better.
But they’re not.
Not because they’re trapped.
Because they’re comfortable.
So the real question isn’t, “How do I get unstuck?”
It’s this:
Are you willing to give up comfort…
or are you going to stay exactly where you are?
